Our Philosophy

The requirements for adult continuing education courses differ considerably from those of a standard study program or a conference. Moreover, collaborative learning calls for space and room configurations that foster focused learning and stimulate communication. The Center for Continuing Education was built with these needs in mind. The range of rooms – from a large plenary hall to work rooms for small groups – are designed to accommodate various teaching methodologies and allow for flexible use of the facilities.

With its cubic design and large windows, the building presents an understated elegance to the outside world, while color is used to great effect in the interior. The Center's construction and building technology fulfill Swiss Minergie standards. Furniture in the group rooms has been selected on the basis of ergonomic and didactic criteria; comfort and clear lines are paramount.
